play Distance We Can Run

'Chocolate Buddha' was the original name of this song, after a house concert series in Texas. One sunny morning Greg sat on the backyard stage of Sandy and Janet's open ranch land thinking of their welcoming home and new baby Zoe. Since there's no actual reference to chocolate or Buddha, we decided to change the title for memory's sake. Their spirits remain in this song.

You know there's a place to go
There's a place to heal
There's a place where you can stay
There's a breeze that blows
Across the field
There's a place where you can get away

Chorus:
But you don't need to be a cowboy
You don't need to tote no gun
You can tell me your name " I will tell you mine
And the distance we can run

A place where I can make some french toast
And strangers become friends
Where we sit around the table
The adventures never end
Where I see a baby's smile
Just reminds me I was born
That little sparkle of enlightenment
Just tells me where I'm from

(Chorus)

(Rpt. 1st Verse & Chorus)

Where I see a baby's smile
Just reminds me I was born
