Helena Nash is a Sound Healing & Reiki Practitioner based in Portland, Maine. Her practice emphasizes body balancing and relaxation for physical and mental well-being.
SOUND HEALING: Sound healing is provided with Helena's voice, and sometimes with other instruments such as tuning forks, singing bowls and other instruments.
REIKI: In this gentle but powerful modality, "life force energy" flows through a practitioner's hands to provide the client's body and energy systems with an infusion of energy. This healing energy can help the client to experience healing on physical, emotional and mental levels, reducing stress and creating the conditions for beneficial changes to take place.
Reiki is a holistic energy treatment that has gained respect within the medical community and is being used in reputable medical facilities throughout the US and world. As an example, John Hopkins Medicine explains to patients the effects of Reiki in this way: "The intention is to create deep relaxation, to help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms you may be experiencing."
SESSION: During the session the client wears comfortable clothes and lies down on a massage table or sits in a chair. The practitioner places hands lightly on the client to direct energy into various areas such as the head, stomach, heart, knees and feet.
1:1 sessions are respectful and professional. Clients have an opportunity before the session to discuss their intentions for the Reiki session and afterwards to reflect upon their experience.
